Procedural earloop masks are designed to protect the wearer from inhaling airborne particles and to prevent the spread of infection to others. Here are the steps to use procedural earloop masks properly:

1. Wash your hands with soap and water before handling the mask.

2. Open the package containing the mask, being careful not to touch the inside of the mask.

3. Hold the mask by the ear loops and position it over your nose and mouth, with the colored side facing outward.

4. Secure the mask in place by pulling the ear loops over your ears, ensuring that the mask covers your nose and mouth completely and fits snugly against your face.

5. If the mask has a nose wire, press it gently against the bridge of your nose to ensure a secure fit.

6. Avoid touching the mask while wearing it, as this can transfer contaminants from your hands to the mask.

7. If the mask becomes wet or dirty, replace it with a new one.

8. When you are finished wearing the mask, remove it by pulling the ear loops away from your ears, being careful not to touch the front of the mask.

9. Dispose of the mask in the appropriate waste container.

Using procedural earloop masks properly can help reduce the spread of infectious respiratory diseases and protect the wearer from airborne particles. It is important to follow proper procedures for putting on and taking off the mask to reduce the risk of contamination. Additionally, it is important to dispose of the mask properly after use.
